Chapters 5 and 6 explore tests of salvation that have a basis in a believer’s post-conversion spiritual condition.  Detection of a spiritual condition can be difficult because it is more subjective than objective.  Even so, these tests of salvation based on a believer’s spiritual condition, which typically becomes more mature over time, are valid.  These tests of salvation are: (1) a believer abides in God; (2) a believer has biblical fellowship; (3) a believer has experiential knowledge of God; (4) a believer hungers and thirsts for God; (5) a believer possesses spiritual discernment; (6) a believer has been given understanding; and (7) a believer has knowledge of the truth.
